Sister Cities

Program Information
The Fremont Sister city Program began in 1962 when the City Council created the Sister city Commission. Seven members, appointed by the City Council, served as volunteer commissioners. Although the Sister city Commission was dissolved September 2009, the Sister city relationships are maintained by Fremont community members. The Sister city representatives organize international exchanges and, with the help of other volunteers, raise funds to support Sister city activities. The Sister city program is affiliated with Sister Cities International.

The purpose of the Sister city Program is to foster international goodwill through people-to-people activities.
