Energy and environmental concept
The East Bay Energy Watch partnership is a collaboration between Pacific Gas and Electric Company and local governments, non-profit and for-profit energy service providers in the East Bay dedicated to providing innovative energy efficiency solutions for residents and businesses in communities throughout Alameda and Contra Costa Counties.
For Your Business
The East Bay Energy Watch serves commercial customers within Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. As a PG&E small to medium business customer, you are eligible for a no-cost comprehensive energy assessment of your building that may qualify you for cash rebates from PG&E, reducing your cost of efficiency.

Business Energy Solutions Team (BEST)

The Business Energy Solutions Team (BEST) Program helps small to medium sized business owners lower energy costs and offset the high cost of energy efficiency upgrades. The BEST Program offers free facility energy audits and provides incentives for energy efficient lighting retrofits, select refrigeration equipment, controls, and other proven technologies.

The BEST Program has served the City of Fremont since 2011. In the current 2013-2014 program cycle, BEST has served 66 small to medium businesses in Fremont, provided nearly $265,000 in rebates, and saved 1,715,600 kWh of electricity.

For Your Home

Understanding your home energy use is the best way to increase home comfort and lower your utility bills. Through our innovative green workforce development program, the East Bay Energy Watch provides no-cost home energy assessments, or Green House Calls, for Alameda and Contra Costa County residents.

California Youth Energy Services

For seven weeks each summer, Rising Sun Energy Center hires young adults ages 15 to 22 for the California Youth Energy Services Program. These youth are trained to serve communities across the Bay Area with no-cost Green House Calls. At each Green House Call, youth check the home for efficiency, install energy and water-saving equipment like energy-efficient lighting, high-efficiency aerators for bath and kitchen, showerheads, clotheslines, power strips, and more – and provide personalized recommendations for further savings.

The CYES Program has served the City of Fremont every summer since 2009, employing a total of 71 local high school and college-aged youth and serving 2,158 Fremont homes. Through the free services offered, Fremont homes have saved approximately 907,700 kWh of electricity and 14,300 therms of natural gas annually, and reduced household water flow by 2,100 gallons per minute.
