Mission San Jose Business District

In 1797 the Francis- can fathers established the fourteenth mission in what is now Fremont.  Over time, thousands of settlers, attracted to the Mission area by its culture, beauty and opportunities, began to spread out to found other population centers.  Without a doubt, Mission San Jose played a vital part in launching our modern day Bay Area society.

Mission San Jose

Today, Mission San Jose offers many fascinating historical attractions and business opportunities.  Among its attractions are an authentic reconstruction of the Mission's adobe church and surviving southwest quadrangle of the Mission, which are open daily for tours.  In addition, the Olive Hyde Art Gallery, located directly across from the Mission at Mission and Washington Boulevards, features traditional and contemporary art exhibits throughout the year.  Mission San Jose Streetscape

Ohlone Community College is situated one block away from the Mission and serves over 12,000 students.  The College is also home to the Gary Soren Smith Center for the Fine and Performing Arts, where the Fremont Symphony Orchestra performs throughout the year.

A multitude of grand custom homes in the hills serve Fremont's growing executive community.  The median household income for the Mission San Jose area (zip code 94539) exceeds $94,400.  Ranked as the 9th wealthiest neighborhood in the East Bay, Mission San Jose is an ideal location for upscale dining and retail.
