Councilmember Robert (Bob) Wieckowski is a long-time resident of Fremont. He attended Fremont public schools and graduated from Kennedy High. He then went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at the University of California, Berkeley, and a law degree at Santa Clara University Law School. Today Councilmember Wieckowski practices law, specializing in bankruptcy reorganizations and misdemeanor criminal matters.
Councilmember Wieckowski has been active in the Fremont community. He worked to keep Kennedy High School open. He is an active member in Tri-City Ecology Center, serving as its Chair since 1999. From 1999-2001, he served on the Fremont Recreation Committee, and was then appointed to the Planning Commission in 2001. He was active as a citizen participant in the Downtown Planning Advisory Commission, and served as a volunteer member of the Shelter Against Violent Environments (SAVE) Task Force.
