City of Fremont to Host Local Business Outreach Meeting Regarding Fremont Minimum Wage Ordinance

people at meeting

The Fremont City Council is currently considering whether or not to establish a citywide ordinance that would increase the minimum wage to $15 per hour at a faster rate than the State mandates. The current statewide minimum wage is $10.50 per hour for small businesses and $11 per hour for large businesses.

The City of Fremont invites local business owners and managers to share their thoughts at a business outreach workshop on Thursday, October 11, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Fremont City Hall, 3300 Capitol Ave., in the Council Chambers. To assist the City Council in its deliberations, the City of Fremont is asking for input from residents and other community stakeholders through various forms of engagement. This workshop is an opportunity for the business community to provide input on the matter. To RSVP for the business workshop contact Anna Guiles via email or call 510-284-4015.

Community members can also share their opinion through an online survey on Fremont Open City Hall, the City’s online civic engagement forum.
