New location announced for Navigation Center workshops

Due to the large attendance expected at the community workshops for Fremont’s temporary Housing Navigation Center, the City has relocated both workshops to Harbor Light Church, 4760 Thornton Ave., one of Fremont’s largest venues. The workshop on Wednesday, August 14, will now start at 5:30 p.m. to accommodate the venue’s schedule.

The new location and times for the workshops are:

  • Wednesday, August 14, from 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m., at Harbor Light Church, 4760 Thornton Ave.
  • Saturday, August 24, from 10 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., at Harbor Light Church, 4760 Thornton Ave.

Workshops are open to the public and will include information about what a navigation center is and the role navigation centers play in addressing homelessness. Staff will be available to answer questions and receive feedback from the public, which will be shared with the Fremont City Council at a meeting in September (date TBD). For more information about the City of Fremont’s temporary Housing Navigation Center, and to subscribe to project updates visit www.Fremont.gov/NavigationCenter.

Workshops will no longer take place at the previously announced locations of City Hall and the Centerville Library.

Below was the original information the City posted regarding these workshops:

The City of Fremont will host two community workshops regarding the proposed Housing Navigation Center. Workshops are open to the public and will be held on the following dates:

4:00 pm – 7:00 pm
City Hall, 3300 Capitol Ave.

Saturday, August 24
10:00 am – 1:00 pm
In front of the Centerville Library, 3801 Nicolet Ave.

The workshop will not have a formal presentation. Staff will be available to answer questions, discuss the City’s initiative to address homelessness, and receive community feedback. The information will be presented to the Council in September (meeting date TBD) and it’s anticipated that a final site will be selected.
