FRC Room Rentals
FRC meeting and conference rooms are available to any individual or organization needing a gathering place. Rooms are available seven days a week from 8am-11pm, with room capacities of 24-80 people. Rates vary from $35-$70/hour. more....

Finding the FRC by Bus
Four AC Transit bus lines run within a half mile of the FRC -210, 211, 213 and 218. A new bus line now comes right to Liberty & Capitol - #328.
For detailed directions from your starting point, call AC Transit at 511 or 817-1717 Monday-Friday 7am-7pm, or Saturday-Sunday 9am-5pm. Follow the voice menu to reach bus info, or go online at AC Transit and click on Trip Planner.

Onsite Child Care at Discovery Cove
Do you need childcare for just a few hours? Or maybe you have regular daycare service but need an occasional back-up? The FRC operates a drop-in hourly childcare service for well children. Limit 12 hours a week. Reservations recommended.

Cost.......$7 per hour/child
Onsite childcare is free to clients accessing services.

Can We Help You?
The Bay Area is a wonderfully diverse community speaking a multitude of languages. The FRC embraces our diversity and has a multi-lingual team staffing our front desk. In addition to English, Farsi & Pashtu are available on Mondays, Korean on Tuesdays, Vietnamese on Wednesdays, and Spanish on Thursdays and Fridays. The FRC Welcome Center at 574-2000 is open Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm and is located at 39155 Liberty Street in Building ABCD.

Fremont Blood Drive
The American Red Cross needs blood and we need you! The City of Fremont is holding a community blood drive on Friday, August 24th from 12:30-6:30pm at the Fremont Family Resource Center, 39155 Liberty Street in the Pacific Room. Youth on the Move
Julian and Leticia Moreno know all too well the kind of trouble waiting out there for a teenager; as teens, they both found it and found themselves locked up. They have since learned their lessons and are living proof that it is never too late to turn your life around. Proud parents, and the owners of a successful construction company, they still find the time to give back to the community with a program called "Youth on the Move."
Youth on the Move was started by the Morenos over three years ago in San Leandro and has since moved to Fremont. [read more]

Why Challenging Kids Are Challenging
There are many reasons why a child has difficult behaviors or is "challenging." Often one of the first missions of a professional who gets involved with a family is to figure out exactly which underlying causes are applicable in a particular child's instance. Once the reasons behind the behavior are uncovered, then appropriate interventions can be targeted for improvement. [read more]

EBAC Leads Project FREE
East Bay Agency For Children (EBAC), the agency that manages Fremont Healthy Start (FHS), received a three-year grant from the Federal Office of Refugee Resettlement to lead the Fremont Refugee Education and Empowerment Project or Project FREE. This project, coordinated by long-time FHS staff member and Afghan community leader Shahla Arsala, provides family support services, linkages to community resources, acculturation, and citizenship/naturalization assistance to the large Afghan refugee population living in Fremont. Veterans Rep Awarded
Fred Koenig, the Veterans Representative at the Tri-Cities One Stop Career Center/EDD Office, was awarded the 'Mission Advocate of the Year' by the Calidad organization at a May 10th luncheon held at Scott's Sea Food Restaurant, Jack London Square in Oakland.
Calidad is a nonprofit affiliate created by Goodwill Industries of the Greater East Bay. [read more]

Fremont Summer Concerts
After a long absence, the City of Fremont's Summer Concert Series is back! Sponsored by The Saddle Rack this year, these free outdoor concerts are a hit! Each concert highlights a different band and style - Country Rock, R&B, Classic Rock, Jazz/Blues, Latin and Motown. So come on out and enjoy the music, fresh air, the gorgeous lake and hillside views and possibly a barbequed dinner!
Schedule:
- Thursday nights, 6:30-8:30pm: July 26, August 9 & 23
- Final concert, 2-5pm: Sunday, September 16

Dear Rosie, Does the FRC have a support group for depression?
No we don't, but Alameda County's The Family Alliance on Mental Illness has a local resource. The Interfaith Depression & Sadness Support Group meets in Fremont every Monday from 7:30-9pm at 3833 Peralta Blvd, Suite D. [read more]

Mental Illness
