Caregiver Support Group for Older Adults

Caregiving for older adults can be a rewarding as well as stressful experience. In this monthly group, we'll have the opportunity to get to know and support each other while learning:
  • How to manage stress and anxiety.
  • How to care for yourself while caring for another.
  • How to establish realistic goals and expectations.
  • Where to turn in the community for help.
  • Gain awareness about workshops that can help.

The group will be facilitated by Nancy Rothschild, counselor for the City of Fremont Human Services Department. She has been leading groups in the Bay Area for 20 years, and was a caregiver herself.

Stress Reduction for Caregivers through Mindfulness Workshop

Mindfulness is an approach to working with stress that can help you cope more effectively and find greater balance.

It is a way of learning to:
  • Relate directly to whatever is happening in your life with its many challenges.
  • Take care of yourself that no one else can do for you.
