Seniors

The City of Fremont offers a full array of services to seniors of all ages.

Services are provided to assist seniors in their own homes.  These are provided by the Senior Support Service team, a caring group of nurses, social workers and psychologists who visit seniors in their own homes and help arrange for services like transportation, home delivered meals, medical care, applications for financial assistance and other services as needed.

For very frail seniors on Medi-Cal, the City offers a program called the Multipurpose Senior Services Program (MSSP).  Seniors in this program are visited by both a nurse and a social worker who not only arrange for services, but are also authorized to pay for equipment and services through Medi-Cal.

Other programs for seniors include: senior peer counseling and support, and kinship support services.  The City also offers special programs for family caregivers.  Family caregivers are adults who care for frail senior relatives or seniors who care for younger, disabled family members.

For more information, Call the Fremont Senior Center at 510-790-6600 or the Senior Help Line at 510-574-2041.
