Traffic Management Center

Fremont's Traffic Management Center (TMC) is the hub where all the City's traffic signals are monitored.  The TMC is located in the City's Development Services Center building.

Currently, 148 of the City's 158 traffic signals are connected to a central computer system located at the City's TMC. The TMC allows the various components of traffic management to be effectively managed and monitored throughout the City.  The ability to monitor all traffic signals from a central location allows for the instant notification of equipment malfunction. The TMC currently has the following capabilities and components:

Traffic Management Center

  • Live and continuous vehicle count data collection, storage, and analysis from on-street detectors
  • Closed-circuit television (CCTV) monitoring of intersection traffic and signal operations
  • Real time monitoring and control of signalized intersections
For more information about the TMC, contact the City's Transportation Engineering Division at 510-494-4745 or trafficengineering@ci.fremont.ca.us.
