Scheduling an Inspection

To schedule an inspection, call 510-494-4885. The automated system will guide you through the process.  Inspection requests can be made 24 hours a day on the automated line.  
 
Please note that all building inspections must be scheduled before 4 P.M. the day before the appointment.

To find out your inspection time, call your inspector the morning of your sceduled inspection between 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m.

To cancel an inspection and avoid a possible re-inspection fee (see Building Inspection Fees), please call your inspector or the Building Inspection Office at 510-494-4400 by 9 a.m. the day of the inspection.

Please be sure to schedule all your required inspections including the final inspection.  Retain your Inspection Record Card and your permit as proof the work was permitted and inspected as required.
