Automatic Fire Suppression System Permit Fees

What type of projects have these fees?

Fire sprinkler installations are reviewed, permitted and inspected by Fire Inspection staff.  New fire sprinkler installations, or alterations to existing sprinkler systems, are subject to these fees.  Examples of these projects include:
 
1.     Sprinklers and overhead work
2.     Sprinklers added or altered
3.     Sprinkler or Underground System work
4.     Valves/Water flow supervision

Why are there Automatic Fire Suppression System Permit fees?

Automatic Fire Suppression fees are charged to capture the plan review, inspection and administrative service costs that are associated with these types of installations.

When are fees due?

If plan review is required, the plan review fee is determined and paid at the time of permit issuance.  Staff calculates all other itemized permit and application fees at this time and payment of these fees is required prior to permit issuance.
