Electrical Code Review and Permit Fees

What type of projects have these fees?


The installation, alteration, and/or relocation of the following items might require application for an electrical permit and payment of the applicable permit fees:
 
1.     Electrical switches, fixtures, and receptacles
2.     Electrical appliances: dishwasher, stove, fan, garbage disposal, etc.
3.     Transformers and motors
4.     Service panels and electrical meters
5.     Temporary electrical service and meters


Why are there Electrical Code Review and Permit fees?


Electrical Code Review and Permit fees are charged to capture the plan review, inspection, and administrative service costs that are associated with these types of permits.

When are fees due?


If plan review is required, the plan review fee is determined and paid at the time of permit issuance.  Staff calculates all other itemized permit and application fees at this time and payment of these fees is required prior to permit issuance.
