The installation, alteration, and/or relocation of the following items might require application for a mechanical permit and payment of the applicable permit fees:

 

1.     Air handling unit

2.     Appliance vent

3.     Boiler/compressor

4.     Fire damper

5.     Gas piping

6.     Heater/Furnace - floor mounted, suspended, or wall

7.     Heating/Cooling appliance - repair, add, or alter

8.     HVAC System - repair, add, or alter

9.     Incinerator - non-residential and residential

10.   Process piping - hazardous and non-hazardous

11.   Type I and Type II Hoods

12.   VAV box

13.   Vent system - flammable, explosive, or toxic

14.   Vent system (not part of HVAC system)

 

Mechanical Code Review and Permit fees are charged to capture the plan review, inspection, and administrative service costs that are associated with these types of permits.

If plan review is required, the plan review fee is determined and paid at the time of permit issuance.  Staff calculates all other itemized permit and application fees at this time and payment of these fees is required prior to permit issuance.
