Centerville Unified Site
Location: The Centerville Unified Site is a vacant 6.5 acre parcel located on the north side of Fremont Boulevard between Thornton Avenue and Bonde Way.
At a March 18, 2008 City Council Work Session, the Council began their discussion of the Centerville site by soliciting input from the public on their vision for development on the site. The Council then reviewed key objectives for the project, including:
1. The development of a high quality project, that could include ground floor retail along Fremont Boulevard and vertical residential mixed-use above. The project should be a catalyst for the rest of the Centerville commercial district.
2. Provide connections to Post Street and the train station.
3. Include a gathering place for the community.
Blake Hunt, the Redevelopment Agency's designated developer for the site, is working to address the Council's objectives.
