Trash Enclosures
Trash Enclosures for garbage, recycling and food waste containers are required for:
- Any new commercial, industrial, or institutional development, for which a building permit application is required, in all zoning districts.
- All new or significantly remodeled multiple-dwelling residential developments without enclosed and individually accessed garages (5 or more units).

Construction and Demolition Debris Recycling
Construction and demolition debris make up at least 20% of the waste landfilled in Fremont. The City of Fremont requires reuse, recycling, and proper disposal of demolition and construction debris.
Before permits are issued, a Waste Handling Plan must be completed. At the conclusion of the project, applicant must submit a Waste Diversion & Disposal Report including copies of weight tags and/or receipts, for all construction/demolition materials.
