Job Title Details
Assistant Chef The City of Fremont is looking for an Assistant Chef to join the crew at the City-operated Senior Center. Under direction of the Chef/Food Services Manager, the Assistant Chef will participate in the preparation, serving and clean up of the cafeteria meals. The Assistant Chef may substitute for the Chef/Food Service Manager in the latter's absence. This is a twenty (20) hour per week position. The probationary period for this position is six (6) months. The first review of applications is 5:00 p.m., July 18, 2008.
Associate Civil Engineer (Design) The Associate Civil Engineer (Design) is part of a team implementing a $171 Million Capital Improvement Plan. This work includes numerous major street widenings, pavement rehabilitations, storm drain improvements and other public works projects. This position will remain open until filled.
Building Inspector Specialist (Electrical, Mechanical and Plumbing) The Building Inspector Specialist (Electrical, Mechanical and Plumbing) will enforce the provisions of the Uniform Building, Electrical, Mechanical and Plumbing Codes by inspecting additions and alterations to new residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. In addition, the Specialist will provide expert advice in relation to electrical, mechanical and plumbing inspections of buildings and will assist the Division Manager in developing plans and training. A first review of applications is scheduled for July 9, 2008. The probationary period for this position is six (6) months.
Building Inspector Specialist (Fire) The Building Inspector Specialist (Fire) will enforce the provisions of the Uniform Fire Code by inspecting additions and alterations to, and new residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. First review of applications is July 11, 2008.
Counselor (AFS) The City of Fremont Human Services Department is seeking a Counselor to join the Senior Mobile Mental Health Team. The incumbent will conduct assessments (DSMIV-TR), develop care plans, refer seniors to services and provide counseling to seniors and their families in their own homes. The Counselor will work closely with a clinical supervisor, psychiatrist, pychiatric nurse and Aging and Family Services (AFS) case managers to provide wrap around services. The probationary period for this position is six (6) months. This position will remain open until filled and may close without notice.
Family Services Administrator (AFS) The Administrator will establish and maintain a continuum of programs and services for older adults, including case management, Multipurpose Senior Services Program (MSSP), caregiver support, Senior Peer Counseling, Mobile Mental Health Program and Pathways to Positive Aging, a community-wide initiative working to improve the quality of life for older adults and their families. The incumbent will also plan, organize and direct the work of the AFS staff which provides services to meet the needs of the community's seniors and their families. The first review of applications is July 14, 2008.
Police Communications Dispatcher The Police Communication Dispatcher will dispatch emergency and non-emergency police personnel in response to calls for service and provide information to law enforcement personnel in the field. Candidates appointed to this position will work in a state of the art communications environment, which operates 24 hours a day, 365 day per year. The position's unique work schedule is an 11-hour workday, 4 days on and 4 days off (with 6 month shift rotations), which allows employees an opportunity for frequent weekends and holidays off. All Police Communication Dispatchers can participate in an on-duty exercise program and apply for specialized dispatch positions. The probationary period for this position is twelve (12) months. The application deadline date is 5:00 p.m., August 8, 2008.
