Creeks

One of Environmental Services' missions is to enhance, restore and preserve creeks throughout the City of Fremont.

Creeks, in addition to their natural beauty, have inherent value, provide wildlife habitat, recreation, flood control and improve water quality.

Creeks can be found in channels or pipelines, which help move water from one place to another. Through a series of pipelines and channels, the water from Fremont's creeks is deposited into the San Francisco Bay.

Creeks

Due to the importance of creeks, these natural resources are a priority for the City of Fremont.

Environmental Services staff and local community groups work together on a variety of projects which include the removal of non-native vegetation and planting of native vegetation and shrubs in an effort to restore the riparian area to a more natural state.
