Community Emergency Response Teams

CERT Extinguisher Drill

About CERT

The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program is designed to provide emergency response training for the citizens of Fremont, and prepare them to assist the Fremont Fire Department in the event of a major disaster.  These events could include:

  • Earthquake
  • Terrorist attack
  • Severe storm
  • Other catastrophic event

Volunteers may be the first responders on the scene after a major earthquake or other disaster. They will be ineffective or at personal risk unless they have received proper disaster response training. The CERT program provides this crucial training.

If you want to learn how to prepare yourself, but are not sure about volunteering for the City of Fremont, you should take PEP.
