Hours for marriage licenses at the County are 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. No appointment is necessary.

 

The fee for a license is $84.00. Both applicants must appear together and in person at the time the license is issued. There are no exceptions.

• Date and place of birth
• Occupation
• (If married before) Full date when prior marriage ended
• Full names of father and mother (including mother's maiden name)
• Place of birth of father and mother

While blood tests are no longer required to obtain a marriage license, picture identification indicating date of birth such as a drivers license, California ID, or passport is required at the time you apply for the license. The license will be issued while you wait. It may be used only in the state of California and is good for 90 days after the issuance date.
