April 4, 2006

This Friday, April 7, is National Walk to Work Day sponsored by Prevention Magazine, the American Podiatric Medical Association and the California Podiatric Medical Association.  As one of "America's 2006 Top 10 Walking Cities," Fremont will host a noontime walking event around Lake Elizabeth to commemorate this special day of health awareness.

Members of the public are invited to take a walk with co-workers, friends, family, and other Fremont residents around Lake Elizabeth on Friday, April 7.  The walk will begin at 12:00 noon at the Lake Elizabeth Boat Dock in front of the Visitors Center, located off of Sailway Drive.  Brief remarks by City of Fremont officials and members of the California Podiatric Medical Association will kick-off the 2-mile walk – rain or shine!
Be sure to spread the word about the great benefits of walking and try it out for yourself this Friday at noon.  Participants will receive a free gift bag courtesy of Prevention Magazine and the California Podiatric Medical Association.
