Summer Concert Series Returns to Central Park - Plans to be Announced at the May 12 Performance Pavilion Dedication

May 8, 2007

The City of Fremont will unveil plans for the long-awaited return of the popular Central Park Summer Concert Series at its dedication ceremony for the new Central Park Performance Pavilion on May 12. The 2007 Central Park Summer Concert Series, presented by The Saddle Rack, will kick off Thursday, June 28, with a country and western theme for the first concert of the season. Plans are currently in the works to make opening night a fun and entertaining affair for the community.

With a new Performance Pavilion as the stage, Lake Elizabeth and Mission Peak as the backdrop, and an expanded open lawn seating area to enhance the venue, the 2007 Summer Concert Series is sure to be a hit! It will feature five Thursday evening concerts that kick off on June 28 at 6:30 p.m. Concerts will alternate every other Thursday evening through July and August. The concert series wraps up with an afternoon feature concert on Sunday, Sept. 16, honoring the anniversary of the Celebrate Fremont @ the Park event. An opening band and a headline performer will close out the season in style.

The Performance Pavilion is located in Central Park near the Fremont Community Center, 40204 Paseo Padre Parkway. For more information about the Summer Concert Series, please contact the City's Parks and Recreation Department at (510) 494-4333.
