Flooding

Flooding in Gutter, Overflowing Storm Drain

Call 510-979-5700 during Maintenance office hours.  Please be prepared to give the street address, the nearest cross-street and any other information you believe will help us locate the problem.

When the Maintenance office is closed, please call 510-790-6800 to report the problem. Emergency repair crews will be dispatched.

During times of extraordinarily heavy rains, storm drains may overflow even when not clogged.  This is expected, but the water should go down as the rain abates.

Clean Drain

Storm drain inlets are routinely cleaned once a year. If you feel an additional cleaning may be necessary, please contact the Maintenance Division at 510-979-5700 or use "Report a Hazard/Nuisance." For more information, visit the Storm Drains page.

Fremont residents and businesses may pick up a maximum of 5 sandbags (per household/business) at either of the following locations.

Please note: You need to bring your own shovel to fill the sandbags with sand; the City will provide the sandbags and sand. The sand is located in a parking stall at both locations.
