  • Requests for removal of City street trees are handled by the Urban Forestry Section. In general, the City's policy is to only remove trees that are a hazard or are diseased or infested to the extent that the health of the tree cannot be recovered.

  • Tree removal permits are issued by the Urban Forestry Section.  Tree removal permits may be issued for trees not meeting the City's policy criteria for removal, but which may warrant removal due to other, special circumstances. Tree removal under these conditions requires a no-fee tree removal permit issued by the Urban Forestry Section, and all costs of removal are the responsibility of the permittee.

  • Damage to sewer or other utility services - If you suspect that a City tree may be causing damage to a sewer line, water line or other utility service near the tree, arrangements must be made with the Urban Forestry Section to inspect the damage while it is excavated and exposed.
