City of Fremont Paratransit
The City of Fremont Paratransit program provides a shared-ride, door-to-door transportation service for health care, shopping, social and recreational needs. Service is provided to and from destinations in Fremont, Newark and Union City.
Eligibility RequirementsIn order to be eligible for the city's Door to Door Transportation Service, a person must be:
- A Fremont resident who is 80 years of age or older, OR
- A Newark resident who is 70 years of age or older, OR
- A Fremont or Newark resident who is unable to use public transit independently due to a disability or disabling health condition.
Hours & Fares
The hours of operation are: Monday- Friday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday & Sunday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Advanced reservations are required. The fare is $2.50 with prepaid vouchers (available in a book of 8 for $20) and $3 in cash for a one way trip. Fremont Paratransit offers Group Trips, in addition to door-to door transportation services, for social and recreational outings for housing complexes, social groups, or community organizations serving people with disabilities or people 60 years and older.
Trips can be arranged for 6 or more people Monday- Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and must depart and return on the same day. Destinations must be within a 25-mile radius of the Fremont City Hall building (3300 Capitol Ave, Fremont, CA). Group Trips must be arranged ahead of time and will be accommodated depending on program funding, vehicle availability and trip distance. Groups can request one vehicle per trip (16 or 22 passenger).
Programs funded by Alameda CTC through Measure B and Measure BB sales tax.
Union City Paratransit
Union City Paratransit is for Union City residents who are unable to use public transportation due to disability or health condition.Union City Paratransit is a service of Union City Transit and the City of Union City. Union City Paratransit provides services required under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Services are partially funded by the Measure B and Measure BB sales tax of Alameda County. East Bay Paratransit
East bay Paratransit is the ADA service covering the areas of AC Transit and BART for people with disabilities and health conditions that prevent them from riding public transportation. If you live in the Tri-City area and need paratransit service to other locations outside of the Tri-City area, you will need to apply for East bay Paratransit.
