Financial Navigator Service Available to All Alameda County Residents

Are you having issues with your finances?  Has COVID-19 put you or your family in a tight financial situation? Need help with prioritizing payments for expenses such as housing, food, and insurance?  Financial Navigators are available over the phone to help all residents of Alameda County access available programs and services to manage income disruptions and other financial concerns. 

Residents can access these remote services by completing an online form or calling the Fremont Family Resource Center at 510-574-2000 to sign up.

Most Agencies Working Remotely

The Fremont Family Resource Center (FRC) building located at 39155 Liberty Street which houses 23 State, County, City and non-profit organizations is closed to drop-in visitors.  Most agencies will be working remotely.  For general inquiries, City staff will be responding to messages on the FRC main phone line. Please call 510-574-2000.

Telecare Support and Resources

FRC City Office (Suite A110) will be closed to the general public. For families seeking support please call the Family Support Services phone line at 510-574-2000.  Telecare support and resources will be offered remotely by Family Support Coordinators.  

CalWORKs participants in need of counseling services can call 510-574-2023. Ongoing clients will be offered Telecare services.  

The Fremont Family Resource Center’s VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) program, as well as VITA programs throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, is being suspended. VITA customers with appointments will be called to cancel and instructions will be given for rescheduling the appointment. Visit Fremont VITA for updates about the Fremont Family Resource Center, Ohlone College Tri-Cities Career Center, New Haven Adult School, and the Union City Family Center tax sites.

To help you file your tax returns, United Way Bay Area’s Earn It, Keep It, Save It Coalition is providing access to free online tax preparation programs. For more information, please visit 

Filing Deadline Information: The IRS and the State of California has extended the tax filing due date through July 15, 2020. For more information visit and the State of California Franchise Tax Board.
