Assisted Housing Directory

The Assisted Housing Directory is a directory of publicly assisted below market rate housing in Southern
Alameda County; it is not a listing of vacant affordable apartments. If you are looking for affordable housing, your first step is to have your name placed on the wait list at each housing complex. We encourage you to place your name on the waiting list and not limit yourself to only a few affordable developments or only one jurisdiction.

Please note, your credit history is important. Therefore, please take the time to correct or repair your credit history. You may also want to begin saving a little each month so you will have deposit monies, first month's rent, and money for moving expenses.

Open Wait List

We understand that finding a Below Market Rate (BMR) apartment in Fremont is challenging. The majority of affordable developments in Fremont are currently not accepting applications for their wait list, but we do have some good news to share. Maple Square Apartments, located in the Centerville District, recently opened its wait list and is currently accepting applications. Applications can be obtained from the leasing office located at 4163 Baine Avenue in Fremont. The office is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to  5 p.m. Please be advised that Maple Square does not have any vacant apartments at this time. The property is simply opening the wait list so that when a unit does become available in the future, leasing staff can refer to the wait list. Also, to be eligible for Below Market Rate units, you must meet income requirements that you can find here: Fremont.gov/AreaMedianIncome. For Maple Square, the requirement is 20%-60% of median income or below. For questions, please do not contact the City of Fremont. Please contact the Maple Square leasing office at (510) 713-8555 or maplesquare@solari-ent.com.
