Play-Well ONLINE STEM
Play-Well classes are going virtual! Tap into your imagination from the comfort of your own home with the guidance of an experienced Play-Well instructor and simple pieces from your own LEGO collection - all while connecting virtually with other young LEGO engineers! Students will explore their creative boundaries, learn new building techniques, and connect their projects to practical real-world STEM concepts, with a focus on open-ended builds that do not require special LEGO pieces. KENDO Beginner, The Way of Samurai Swordplay (flyer)
NEW! (Ages 7+) KENDO is rooted in the sword fighting techniques of the ancient Japanese warrior ’SAMURAI.’ The martial art conditions the body and mind through traditional physical and spiritual training, ignites continuous self-improvement, and forges a warrior spirit to conquer adversity. This beginner class is designed for those who have never done Kendo and teaches you the fundamental body movements and characteristics of Kendo. ’ Material fee of $35 for Shinai and a bag is due before the first class. Music with Zhanna
In this fun interactive class, engage in music making activities, such as playing percussion instruments, dancing, moving in response to music, listening and participating in music-related stories, singing, practicing active listening, mastering the steady beat, learning about different music styles, and much more! Embark on an exciting journey through this LIVE class into a whole new educational playground, connecting with old and new friends, and continuing to learn new skills through play in a safe and loving environment. Parent participation required. Fee is per household. Siblings are encouraged to join. Music Instruments: any collection of music instruments you have at home. No need to buy anything extra. You will be sent an email with a list of household items to prepare for class.
Melody’s Group Guitar (Ages 5-13)
Let’s have fun playing guitar and learn your favorite song in this virtual class! This is a beginner class for kids! Focus will be on learning basic skills and techniques for the instrument. No former musical knowledge is required. Must have access to a guitar. Parent participation is highly encouraged if the student is very young. Non-refundable material fee: $25. Materials can be picked up at a Melody Academy of Music location near you, ahead of time.
Melody’s Group Ukuele (Ages 5-13)
Let’s have fun playing ukulele and learn your favorite song in this virtual class! This is a beginner’s class for kids. Focus will be on learning basic skills and techniques for the instrument. No former musical knowledge is required. Must have access to a ukulele. Parent participation is highly encouraged if the student is very young. Non-refundable material fee: $25. Materials can be picked up at a Melody Academy of Music location near you, ahead of time.
Melody´s Group Violin (Ages 6-13)
Let’s have fun and play violin in this virtual class! Suzuki method is combined with Western teaching methods to provide a strong foundation for playing this sophisticated instrument! Your child will be enjoying the beauty of the instrument! Parent participation is highly encouraged if the student is very young. Non-refundable material fee: $25; additional $20 with violin rental. Materials can be picked up at a Melody Academy of Music location near you, ahead of time, along with your violin.
Melody´s Piano - Beginners (Ages 4-7)
Let’s have fun and play the piano in this virtual class! Introduce your child to the world of music through various skills, such as singing, ear-training, keyboard playing, rhythm ensemble, and reading music! Must have access to a piano or keyboard. Parent participation is highly encouraged if the student is very young. Non-refundable material fee: $45. Materials can be picked up at a Melody Academy of Music location near you, ahead of time.
