May is Bike Month in Fremont

Tuesday, May 4 – Council Proclamation

Fremont’s City Council will adopt a resolution proclaiming May to be Bike Month in Fremont, California

Wednesday, May 5 – National Bike to School Day

Students and families are encouraged to bike around their neighborhood for physical education or bike to school to pick up food.

May 10-14 – Bike to the Moon Week

The Alameda County Safe Routes to Schools Program is organizing this weeklong event in which students, families, and school staff will track their miles and minutes of physical activity with the goal of collectively “biking” all the way to the moon. More information at:

May 7-16 – Silicon Valley Bike Film Festival

Get access to a curated collection of short films that feature biking that you can watch on your own time. A sliding scale donation is requested. Organized by the Silicon Valley Bike Coalition. More information at:

Friday, May 21 – Bike to Wherever Day

Fremont will join the Bay Area in commemorating this annual event. Complete a pledge to ride online to receive a map to energizer stations and a digital goodie bag. More information at:

Saturday, May 22 – Fremont “Pop-up” Energizer Station

The City of Fremont and Fremont Mobility Commission will host an energizer station at the Fremont Main Library. Come by to pick up a goodie bag. Test ride the new HOPR e-scooters, which will launch in Fremont in May.

VeloPromo Training Rides – interested in trying bike racing?   Youth and adults of all skill levels can try racing at this event.  Rides will be held Sunday, May 2, 9, and 16 and are supported and on roads that are closed to traffic.  More information at: www.velopromo.com
