Best Management Practices to Prevent Pollution
Construction of a site involves a variety of operations including demolition, grading, and paving. These operations can pollute our local waters if not properly managed. The City of Fremont requires all projects to adopt Best Management Practices (BMPs) during construction to prevent pollution.
Statement of Pollution Prevention
Projects less than 1 acre are required to complete a Statement of Pollution Prevention indicating that the applicant is aware of and will adhere to construction Best Management Practices.
NPDES General Permit for Construction
Projects disturbing one acre of area, or more are required to file a Notice of Intent (NOI) to obtain a NPDES General Permit for construction and to develop a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan. For more information visit State Water Resources Control Board.
