Engineering Permits
**Important Notice: Online Submittal Process for Engineering Permits**
The City has implemented an online submittal process for all new permit requests using the City's Citizen Access portal. The online submittal process should be used for all new permit requests including planning permits, building/fire permits, solar permits, and engineering permits. Applications
All Engineering applications require that you complete an Engineering Application Form, except Tree Removal Permits. Additionally, a Stormwater Control Plan may be required.
Permit Information
- Encroachment Permits are required for construction within the public right-of-way, including public streets, sidewalks, driveways, or easements.
- Grading Permits may be required for grading, building, or other construction projects.
- Subdivision Maps and Improvement Plans are required in order to subdivide a parcel or lot. Subdivision maps and improvement plans may only be processed after approval of a Planning Application for Tentative Tract Map or Tentative Parcel Map.
- Other City Permits – There are several permits processed by the City of Fremont. Please refer to the City’s website for information on Permits issued by other Departments and Divisions.
