Fremont Continues Bikeway and Pedestrian Improvements

Complete Streets

The City of Fremont is carrying out a number of projects to enhance bikeways and create safe pedestrian crossings. Recently, more than 7 miles of buffered bike lanes were added through the City’s pavement maintenance program.

In early 2019, the City will install an additional 9 miles of buffered bike lanes along Driscoll Road, Stevenson Boulevard., Paseo Padre Parkway, Grimmer Boulevard, and Walnut Avenue. New flashing beacons and pedestrian signals are also under construction at Warren Avenue/Bradley Street and Mowry Avenue/Waterside Circle. Similar improvements will follow at six additional high priority crossing locations this year.

Fremont’s Bikeway and Pedestrian Improvement Projects are funded by Measure B and Measure BB county sales tax. For more information, contact Rene Dalton via e-mail or at 510-494-4535.
