Fremont Parks Update under Red Tier

With the State’s recent announcement that Alameda County has advanced to the Red Tier in the State’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy reopening framework, we’re sharing the following parks update:

Picnic Areas: All City of Fremont picnic tables, picnic areas, and barbecues will re-open for drop-in use beginning this Friday, March 19. Please note that picnic tables are not sanitized and should be used at your own discretion. Based on the current Red Tier restrictions, outdoor social gatherings are limited to no more than 3 households. Picnic Area Reservations will begin on April 1. Applications can be submitted starting Monday, March 22. For more details, visit our website or contact Central Park via email or call 510-790-5541.

Field Use: Outdoor sports field rentals are now available for practice and games. Staff is currently accepting applications for the remainder of March and will begin accepting applications via email/mail starting Monday, March 22, 2021, for the months of April through June. For more details, visit our website or contact the Sports Office via email or call 510-790-5520.

As a reminder, the following rules remain in place:

  • Face coverings are required outdoors if you are within 30 feet of a person living outside of your residence
  • Social distancing of 6-feet is required
  • Outdoor gatherings of no more than three (3) households is permitted
  • Please do not enter a closed area or facility
