City Charter Consideration Final Mtg During Special Council Meeting - July 28, 2026
Post Date:07/24/2026 5:44 PMThe Fremont City Council will convene a special meeting on July 28, 2026, to decide whether to place a city charter on the November 3, 2026, election for consideration by the City of Fremont voters. In accordance with State law, the City Council held two public hearings on June 2, 2026, and July 7, 2026, to review and discuss the Charter Advisory Committee’s recommendations and provide direction to City staff. Following each public hearing, City staff updated the draft city charter language accordingly to reflect the City Council’s requested amendments. More information about the City of Fremont’s City Charter Initiative is available on the City website. The webpage is regularly updated by City staff and contains recordings and associated presentation materials from each of the Charter Advisory Committee meetings and City Council public hearings.
