Our Assistant City Manager Brian Stott is highly dedicated to local government. He brings over 25 years of experience in various areas to Fremont including budget, finance, human resources, homeless services, human services, information technology, intergovernmental relations, and labor relations. Today, he oversees several operating departments including the Community Development, Community Services, Human Resources, and Public Works Departments. Additionally, Brian leads the City’s labor negotiations, capital improvement budget, and the annual operating budget teams. In 2018 and in 2021, Brian also stepped in and briefly served as interim City Manager for the City of Fremont.

Prior to Fremont, Brian served on the City of Morgan Hill’s executive leadership team as the Assistant to the City Manager and Human Resources Director, where he lead the Council Services & Records Management divisions and served as the City’s chief labor negotiator and public information officer among other responsibilities.

Brian holds a Master of Public Affairs from the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas, Austin, and is also a graduate of the Harvard Kennedy School’s Program for Senior Executives in State and Local Government
