Kelly King is the City of Fremont’s first-ever Maintenance Operations Director, overseeing street maintenance, park maintenance, fleet maintenance, and hazardous materials operations. Prior to this role, Kelly spent 10 years as the Deputy Director of Maintenance & Business Operations, where he managed various maintenance functions and spearheaded forward-thinking initiatives for the City, such as our Storm Mitigation Plan. 

Kelly began his career with Fremont in 1998 in the Community Services Department. While he spent a brief time, starting in 2004, as the Director of Parks & Recreation with the City of Plattsburgh, NY, he returned to Fremont in 2007. His extensive leadership experience within the Community Services and Public Works Departments, combined with his comprehensive knowledge of the City’s operations, continues to benefit Fremont and the Maintenance Operations Department.

Kelly holds a bachelor’s in political science from the University of Maine and a master’s in sports management from Springfield College in Massachusetts.
