Arquimides (Quimi) Caldera serves as the Human Services Director for the City of Fremont, where he oversees a department of more than 100 regular and part-time employees and manages a $31 million budget.
With over 25 years of experience administering local government human services programs funded through City, County, State, Federal, and private sources, Quimi brings a wealth of expertise to his role. Before his current appointment, he spent 18 years as Deputy Human Services Director, where he managed the Department’s fiscal health and provided guidance and leadership for all department programs. Before that, he served as the City’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Administrator and as a Management Analyst I & II. Quimi began his career in Fremont as an intern for the California Census 2000 project.
Quimi holds a master’s degree in public policy from the Goldman School of Public Policy at UC Berkley, and a Bachelor of Arts in Rhetoric.
