Deputy City Manager Brian Stott oversees the City’s Finance and Human Resources departments and leads the City’s homeless policy efforts, labor relations and budget teams. Brian is dedicated to the local government profession with over 20 years of experience in a variety of areas including budget, finance, human resources, information technology, intergovernmental relations and labor relations.
Prior to joining the City of Fremont, Brian was a member of the executive leadership team with the City of Morgan Hill serving as as the Assistant to the City Manager and Human Resources Director. While in Morgan Hill, his duties included leading the City’s Human Resources and Council Services & Records Management divisions and serving as the City’s chief labor negotiator and public information officer.
Brian holds an MPA from the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas, Austin, and a Bachelor of Arts in History from California State University, Chico. He is also a graduate of the Harvard Kennedy School’s Program for Senior Executives in State and Local Government.
