Welcome!
We're so excited that you're interested in adopting an animal from our shelter! Adoption is a meaningful way to change a life, and our team is here to support you every step of the way as you find the right pet for your home.
Adoption Process
Visit the shelter to meet available animals. We encourage you to complete an online adoption application in advance to help speed up the process, but it is not required. If needed, staff can assist you with the application at the shelter.
Adoption Hours
10:00 am - 3:30 pm Wednesday-Saturday
Visiting the Shelter
- Adopters are assisted on a first-come, first-served basis.
- For animal safetym visitors may not browse the shelter independently.
- Our team will help match you with pets that fit your lifestyle and arrange introductions.
After Applying Online
- All adoptions are completed in person at the shelter
- Submitting an application does not guarantee availability; animals are not held.
- You may also apply after meeting an animal at the shelter.
Adoption Applications
Each pet has an ID number (example: A123456). Please note this number to help us match your application to the correct animal.
What’s Included with Adoption
All pets receive:
- Vaccinations
- Flea treatment
- Deworming
- Any urgently needed medical care
By law, all cats and dogs are spayed/neutered and microchipped before going home.
Adoption Requirements
- Adopters must be 18+ with a valid ID.
- Adoption fees are due at the time of adoption and are non-refundable.
- Fremont residents must license their pet before taking them home.
Dog Adoption Requirements
- The homeowner or leaseholder must meet the dog.
- All resident dogs must meet the shelter dog before adoption is finalized.
Find Local Pets in Need of a New Home
Find pets looking for new homes directly from their current families. This service helps pets transition to a new family without needing to enter the shelter.

Tri-City Animal Shelter does not verify the accuracy of the information provided. Pets listed on this platform are not in the shelter’s care. Caregivers are responsible for providing all pet details, including medical, behavioral, and bite history. Adopters must verify this information before rehoming.
