On March 3, 2026, the City Council approved a City Charter workplan that included the establishment of a seven‑member, Mayor‑appointed Charter Advisory Committee. The Advisory Committee will be responsible for drafting a proposed Charter for the City Council’s consideration.

City staff have created a web page for the City’s Charter Initiative to support accessibility and transparency.

The Charter Advisory Committee will meet every Monday from March 23, 2026, through April 27, 2026, at 5:00 pm. Meeting dates are as follows:
