Updates for 2025/2026
Please use our Nature Learning Center Field Trip Request Form to request a field trip for 2025/2026
2025/2026 Teaching Season:
November-January: Tuesday and Wednesday mornings
February- May: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings
If you prefer to book a pre-season date in October, please contact us directly by email. These requests will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis as staffing, classroom availability, and other factors allow.
Please note that there is currently a large-scale restoration project in Stivers Lagoon which may impact our outdoor teaching location for portions of this season. The project is anticipated to be complete by late 2025
Field Trip Requirements
- Field trips are currently available for 2nd and 3rd grade classes only.
- Classes must be from a Fremont-based public school, private school, or homeschool group.
- Class size is limited to 32 students. Field trip programs require a minimum of 12 students. If your group is less than 12 students we encourage you to visit us during public hours for unstructured classroom exploration.
- One adult chaperone is required for every 5 students. This includes teachers/aides, parents, and guardians.
- Teacher and chaperone participation is encouraged as it enriches the program.
We are only able to accommodate one field trip at a time with a maximum of 32 students. Please submit separate requests for each individual class.
Please note that our field trips include outdoor exploration and are taught rain or shine. Please keep an eye on the weather and advise your participants to dress appropriately.
Our field trips are taught on site at our Nature Learning Center and surrounding areas. Participants are required to arrange for transportation to and from our facility.
The Nature Learning Center is located in Central Park near the Aqua Adventure Waterpark and Palms Pavilion Picnic Area. The address is 40224 Paseo Padre Parkway.
Parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis in the nearby Aqua Adventure Waterpark Parking Lot.
Cancellations:
We understand that things come up, and field trips may need to be cancelled. If you must cancel, we ask that you please inform us with as much advance notice as possible so we can offer the timeslot to another group. Our calendar is limited, and we sometimes have a waitlist. We appreciate your effort!
