This year, the City of Fremont, City of Newark, and Republic Services tried a new concept for our annual Compost Giveaway. We shifted the single-day pickup event to a scheduled delivery process, where compost is delivered directly to participating households. This high-quality compost is perfect for enriching soil and enhancing gardens and landscaping.

Single-family households that successfully registered with Republic Services will receive two free bags of compost delivered directly to their home between April 27 and May 8, 2026.
