Stormwater Pollution Regulation

The Municipal Regional National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System Stormwater Permit (also known as the MRP), issued by the San Francisco Regional Water Quality Control Board, mandates stormwater pollution prevention activities. The MRP requires 70+ municipalities in the Bay Area, including the City of Fremont, to place conditions on development projects to incorporate site design measures, source controls, treatment measures, and on larger projects, flow duration controls (FDCs). The City of Fremont, in collaboration with 16 partner agencies across Alameda County, participates in the Alameda Countywide Clean Water Program (ACCWP). Together, we are committed to improving stormwater quality and implementing forward-thinking solutions throughout Alameda County.
