The Fire Chief is the department’s highest ranking executive officer and holds ultimate responsibility for the leadership, management, and overall operational readiness of the Fremont Fire Department.
The Chief carries a wide range of administrative and operational responsibilities with the fundamental mission of protecting life, property, and the Fremont community.

Core Functions and Areas of Responsibilities

Oversee Fire Suppression and rescue operations, Emergency Medical Services, and Disaster Response.
Establish and implement policies, programs, and procedures.
Set department's goals and objectives.
Develop, update, and implement department's Strategic Plan.
Plan and direct the preparation of department's budget.
Oversee department's labor relations activities.
Oversee community risk assessment endeavors and department's Standards of Cover.
Initiate and execute contracts and agreements with other jurisdictions.
Maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, community members, and elected officials.
Participate in community events and public relations activities.
