About the Project

Eight pickleball courts were installed and opened in June 2024 at the Central Park Knoll site. To meet community demand and to extend court usage into the evenings, the City is currently in the next phase of the project to install court lighting. A budgetary assessment report was performed to review the existing electrical infrastructure at the site, assess lighting options, and to identify estimated costs.

The new lighting will provide the most optimum lighting level for play and will follow requirements for recreational play level by the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) for outdoor courts. To be as efficient as possible, the City plans to retrofit the lights using the existing electrical infrastructure on site; however, a more thorough electrical evaluation will be necessary. Once investigations are complete, electrical bid plans will be prepared.
