About the Project

To prepare the site for the future Central Park Community Center, the City will remove trees within the project area. This work is necessary to support the upcoming construction for the new community center. Tree removal will be completed by the City’s contractor, Rapid Response and project work will include tree removal and stump grinding.

As part of the City’s commitment to preserving and expanding Central Park’s urban forest, 70 new native species trees will be planted to replace those removed by 2027. These trees will be strategically located throughout the project area to support long-term canopy restoration, and to improve shade and ecological health.

This work is being coordinated by the Public Works Department and Community Services Department.

    Timeline

Project work is anticipated to begin December 15, 2025 and last approximately one week, weather/schedule permitting.
