Work involved the demolition of six (6) existing structures, environmental abatement and removal of in-ground automotive hoists, removal of underground utilities, and the removal of miscellaneous concrete and asphalt parking lot.

Bids for the Dusterberry Neighborhood Park were opened in November 2021, and the project was awarded by Council in December 2021. 

The project general scope consists of:

• importing approximately 1,200 (one thousand two hundred) cubic yards of soil from borrow site at Centerville community park;
• rough grade site and previously imported fill;
• storm drain installation with new area drains,
• field inlets and perforated subdrain systems;
• install sanitary sewer line and potable water line for drinking fountains;
• install concrete and permeable pavers pathways;
• concrete curbs and ramp;
• seatwalls;
• school aged play area play equipment, nature play area equipment and adult fitness equipment;
• poured-in-place safety surfacing,
• steel trellis and foundations;
• shade canopies at play area;
• half basketball court with plexipave surfacing;
• seatwalls;
• park signs;
• planting, including rock boulders and slabs, sod, trees and specimen tree;
• bio-treatment areas;
• new irrigation system;
• site electrical work, including empty conduit for future lighting;
• and installing site furnishings, including picnic tables, benches, drinking fountain, trash and recycle receptacles and bollards.
