About the Park Project

The Palm Avenue Community Park project is slated to be Fremont's newest community park. The 13-acre site offers beautiful views of the surrounding hills and is immediately adjacent to residential neighborhoods, with highway 680 to the south.

To date, the project has completed its Environmental Site Assessment, Historical Resource Evaluation for all buildings on site, and associated environmental Phase 1 reports. Structural evaluation of the barn and geotechnical evaluation and are currently underway, as is further environmental evaluation, as the site is being prepared for its next use as a public park.

Guided by the  2022 Parks and Recreation Master Plan, this future park may include sports fields, courts, playgrounds, picnic areas, open lawns, and more. Like other Fremont Community Parks—such as Warm Springs and Los Cerritos—Palm Avenue Community Park will serve the entire city and include restrooms and parking. Design considerations like traffic, access, and amenities are still being reviewed.

Community input continues to help shape the park design and determine other park amenities.

Over 1,600 community members shared feedback through a community survey and outreach events. This input will be presented to the Recreation Commission on September 3.
