50-50 Street Tree Program

For Street Tree Pruning, or Removal & Replacement

Approved Tree Contractors

What it Covers

  • 50% of the cost of street tree pruning, removal and replacement up to a maximum contribution of $1,500 per tree and up to two trees per property
  • Street trees grow between the sidewalk or curb and the road in front of a property

What it Doesn't Cover

  • Sidewalk repair. There is a 50-50 Sidewalk Program which you can also apply for
  • Trees removed and replaced as part of a development applications
  • Work on private streets. A private street ends in Terrace or Commons, for example, Maple Terrace or Oaks Common.

Eligibility

  • Funds are available to all property owners, including commercial and HOA's
  • You must have an approved Street Tree Permit
  • Hire an Approved Tree Contractor 
  • Keep your proof of payment (cash payment receipts are not accepted)
  • Take before and after images of tree work
  • Application must be approved by the City Arborist

Reasons for Ineligibility

  • You do not replace removed trees (for any reason)
  • The tree work is required by the City as a result of a violation of the City’s Tree Ordinances or required to be planted by the City for another reason
  • Failure to complete the scope of work listed on the Permit, including pruning more than the scope provides
  • When the scope of work is part of a development project
