The Human Services Department accepts donated items to support programs aimed at helping those experiencing homelessness. Items are currently being accepted. Please view the list below.

Homeless Services Needs List

All clothing items should be new and in adult sizes from small to XXXL. The Homeless Services Needs List includes drop-off locations and times to make donating more convenient. 

Remaining in-person drop off options for the City of Fremont Human Services Department for 2025: 

• Friday, December 19th 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. 
• Monday, December 22nd 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 pm. 
• Tuesday, December 23rd, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. 
• Tuesday, December 30th, 10:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. 

Every donation, no matter how small, helps ensure that our neighbors have the essential items they need to stay warm and safe this winter. If you have already donated or plan to do so, thank you for your support and for giving back.

To help support the services and program the City offers to those in need, the Human Services Department accepts financial contributions online via a secure donation form. Select "Homeless Fund" from the list of options.

Interested in volunteering for the City's Safe Parking Program? Volunteers are needed in the mornings and evenings to help administer services to our unhoused community members living in their vehicles. Volunteers assist with:

• guest check-in in the evening,
• guest check-out in the morning, and
• program hospitality by delivering food and coordinating evening activities.  

All volunteers will receive training.

Is your organization interested in becoming a host site for the City's Safe Parking Program?

Safe parking sites are needed for unhoused community members living in their vehicles.

Is your religious facility interested in providing temporary shelter for unhoused community members?

Through the City’s Faith Based Temporary Shelter Permit, religious facilities can provide shelter for unsheltered individuals and families on a temporary basis.

This permit aims to help Fremont’s unhoused residents by expanding temporary shelters in a safe environment.

Permit Details

• No cost permit; free to obtain!
• Up to nine (9) persons can reside at shelter.
• State and local building and fire codes apply.
• Building and fire inspections will be performed to ensure required life safety systems and equipment are in working condition.
• Shelter can operate up to six (6) months in one calendar year.
